Laguna Decorative Display

Type Design

(2022)
In collaboration with the Henry Ford Museum, my peers and I spent hours in the archives of the museum searching for any reminisce of type to inspire us to create a typeface of our own. Naturally, I was heavily inspired by the grooviness and playfulness of the cultural revolution in the 70s through the 80s. Alas, Laguna was created paying homage to the extreme thicks and thins of the “lava lamp” looking typefaces but also bringing in a modern flare with its elongated stems.
